The Fuengirola Promenade<\/strong> is one of the must-see attractions when visiting the city, and it’s actually one of our favorite recommendations in our guide on what to see and do in Fuengirola.<\/a><\/strong> This incredible location spans a length of 7 kilometers,<\/strong> allowing you to traverse all the beaches of the city from one end to the other. The journey begins at the iconic Sohail Castle,<\/a><\/strong> where the famous Marenostrum<\/a><\/strong> takes place, and ends at the other end of the city, at Carvajal Beach.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Walking along the Fuengirola Promenade<\/strong> is a unique experience as it provides a close-up view of the vast Mediterranean<\/strong> Sea<\/strong> alongside the beautiful beaches of Fuengirola.<\/a><\/strong> While strolling, you’ll encounter a variety of bars or beachside restaurants (chiringuitos)<\/strong> where you can take a break to rest and savor the famous ‘pesca\u00edto frito<\/strong>‘ (fried fish). Additionally, you’ll pass by many iconic areas of the city, such as the Fuengirola Port,<\/a><\/strong> the Peseta Monument<\/strong>, the Roman marble columns,<\/strong> and the Teresa Zabell Square.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Fuengirola Promenade<\/strong> is ideal for a sunset stroll, jogging, or even sports, as you’ll find several outdoor gyms<\/strong> with their respective machines along the entire stretch. In fact, while walking, you’ll likely come across many people walking or running, as it’s a meeting point for locals to engage in sports. Another option is to explore it by bike since a part of the promenade has a bike lane.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Promenade<\/strong> is constantly evolving, and the Fuengirola City Council<\/strong> is investing in it every year, modernizing it as they aim to make Fuengirola one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain. For example, in 2022, 64 new pergolas<\/strong> were installed at each beach access point, providing shaded areas for relaxation and LED lighting<\/strong> for nighttime illumination.<\/p>\n

Finally, it should be noted that the Fuengirola City Council<\/strong> has obtained certification for the entire promenade and beaches with the Q for Quality Tourism<\/strong> certificate offered by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE)<\/strong>, in addition to the Blue Flag award<\/strong> from the European Foundation for Environmental Education. This certification attests that all beaches in Fuengirola<\/a><\/strong> possess the following qualities: excellence, safety, and quality.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Fuengirola Promenade<\/strong> has many points of interest along the entire route, but to make it easier for you, here are the key and most beautiful points to see, all ordered considering that you start your journey from Sohail Castle<\/a><\/strong> and continue to the end of the promenade, reaching Carvajal Beach<\/strong>, which is, in fact, one of the best beaches in Fuengirola.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n
