The Finca del Secretario is a historical archaeological site of Roman origin discovered in 1987 in Fuengirola, specifically in the Los Boliches area. This historical site, dating back to the mid-1st century AD, is, alongside Fuengirola’s Sohail Castle, one of the city’s most important historical locations. In fact, it is one of the recommendations in our guide on things to do in Fuengirola.
This villa, currently in ruins, consists of a factory with a dissection room and tanks for salting fish, as well as ovens and Roman-era baths. It is believed that it served an industrial function in its time due to its proximity to the sea and the discovered remains, such as salting pools and amphorae. Another significant discovery at this site, in addition to the villa, was the Venus of Fuengirola, a statue of a ‘Venus Pudica’ sculpted in white marble.”
This site also features the Interpretation Center of the Finca del Secretario, an educational facility that recreates the ancient Roman baths as they were on the estate during that period. Here, you can admire various historical pieces found at the site. It’s worth noting that entry to this archaeological site is completely free, allowing you to visit without any cost.

- Closed on December 25th, January 1st, and January 6th.
