7. Visiting “Paseo de Los Murales” in El Boquetillo
In the picturesque neighborhood of El Boquetillo, right in the center of Fuengirola, the walls of buildings have been transformed into canvases where various urban artists have captured their art, creating the iconic “Paseo de Los Murales” (Mural Walk). These urban murals have revitalized the area’s image, attracting both residents and visitors alike, turning El Boquetillo into an open-air urban art museum adorned with 16 decorative murals.
One of the most prominent murals is the work of Sevillian artist Fabián Bravo, known as Kato. His creation, selected among the top 25 murals worldwide, transports viewers to a magical universe. In it, a girl, surrounded by an almost nighttime sunset, holds a starfish whose glow illuminates the darkness.
8. Taking an excursion to the Caminito del Rey
Even though it’s not in Fuengirola, one of the most popular excursions among tourists visiting our city, and one that we highly recommend, is to go visit the Caminito del Rey. It’s a hiking route offering a unique experience in nature. Considered one of the most spectacular trails in the world, this nearly 8-kilometer stretch located in the Gaitanes Gorge in Malaga is one of the province’s top tourist attractions, so you shouldn’t miss it.

15. Visit the Street Markets in Fuengirola

Firstly, there is the conventional market held on Tuesdays at the fairground of Fuengirola and also on Sundays on Calle Méndez Nuñez. Then there is the “rastro,” a second-hand market that takes place every Saturday at the fairground.

It’s a small site that can be explored quickly, so it’s not a plan for the entire day. However, admission is free, and it’s just a 5-minute walking from the promenade and the beach.
