What is the River Park?
The Fuengirola River Park is one of the most beautiful and iconic parks in the entire city. Located right at the mouth of the Fuengirola River and next to important landmarks such as the Sohail Castle or the Miramar Shopping Centre, the River Park has become a reference point in Fuengirola, both for tourists and locals. It’s particularly popular if you enjoy taking a stroll and clearing your mind on foot.
This park features green areas for strolling and enjoying the tranquility of the river, as well as playgrounds and spaces for sports activities such as basketball or ping-pong. It also includes a navigable area where water sports can be practiced, or you can peacefully paddle along the river by renting a pedal boat.
As an interesting note about the park, it’s worth mentioning that being a river park located next to the river, during periods of heavy rainfall, the river’s flow increases and floods the entire park. This is not a problem for the park’s integrity, as it is designed to withstand such occurrences, but it is quite impressive to witness.
Where is the River Park?
The Fuengirola River Park is located in the southern part of the city, next to the Miramar Shopping Centre, Sohail Castle, and the Fuengirola Promenade. Being adjacent to these important landmarks, it’s easily accessible. Additionally, it’s approximately 1.6 km from the city center, making it a convenient walk that takes about 20 minutes.
From ‘Ven a Fuengirola,‘ we recommend visiting the park when exploring the Sohail Castle or the Miramar Shopping Centre area since, as mentioned, the park is right next to them. In fact, there are paths within the park that connect directly to the entrances of both locations.
