If there’s one thing that defines Fuengirola throughout the year, it’s its fairs. Here, it’s not just one celebration — there are three major festivities that set the rhythm of the city and fill its streets with music, tradition, and joy. As a lifelong local, I can tell you that each one has its own charm, atmosphere, and people. And the best part is they take place at different times of the year, so there’s always a good excuse to come and enjoy.
International Fair of the Nations – Feria de Los Pueblos
In spring, usually at the end of April or beginning of May, we celebrate one of the most original and colorful fairs on the Costa del Sol: the International Fair of the Nations. Picture more than 30 booths, each representing a different country, with its own food, music, dances, and culture. It’s like traveling the world without leaving Fuengirola — a perfect plan for friends, couples, or families. If you enjoy trying new things, this event is a sure bet.
Fuengirola Fair – Virgen del Rosario
In October comes the main fair, the most anticipated of all: the Feria of the Virgen del Rosario, the city’s patron saint. For a whole week, Fuengirola is transformed. By day, the city center is filled with horses, flamenco dresses, and local clubs where music and rhythm fill the air. By night, the fairgrounds come alive with booths, concerts, rides, and a vibrant party spirit. It’s a celebration that blends devotion and joy, and it captures your heart from day one.
Los Boliches Fair – Virgen del Carmen
This one takes place in July, coinciding with the feast day of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of the fishing district of Los Boliches. The Los Boliches Fair has a strong seaside character, with fried fish, popular devotion, and a family-friendly atmosphere. The most beautiful moment is the maritime procession, when the Virgin is carried on shoulders and sails across the Mediterranean, surrounded by boats, flowers, and fireworks. If you’re into authenticity and tradition, this fair is a true gem.
